Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to teach genetic principles of plant breeding to give the students information about plant breeding methods and their applications to provide the basic knowledge about breeding methods used in self and cross pollinated crops

Importance of plant breeding in agricultural production; reproduction systems and fertilization in plants; the importance, collection, preservation and evaluation of plant genetic resources in plant breeding; variation and heritability; genetic principles of plant breeding, inheritance of qualitative and quantitative characters; the use of incompatibility in male infertility in plant breeding; breeding methods applied to self and foreign fertilized plants; breeding breeding, breeding breeding, hybrid breeding; hybrid seed production; mutation breeding
