Objectives of the Course
XI-XIV. To teach the characteristics, representatives and works of Classical Turkish literature between the centuries.

Learning Outcomes
1Learns the changes in Turkish literature with the acceptance of Islam and uses the sources of Islamic period Turkish literature.
2Comprehends the literary personalities and works of figures such as Yusuf Has Hacib, Kaşgarlı Mahmud, Edib Ahmed, Ahmed Yesevî and Hakim Süleyman Ata.
3Gains detailed information about the poets and their works in the establishment phase of classical Turkish literature.
4XI-XIV. learns about the political, cultural and literary life that took place between the centuries.
5To have knowledge of poets who played a role in foundation phase of Divan literature.

Course Contents
A Brief Overview of the Literature of the Turks Before the Adoption of Islam; The first works given in the new cultural and literary environment that started to be formed with the acceptance of Islam by the Turks; XI-XII. major works written between the centuries; XIII. Turkish literature and the first poets that started to emerge in Anatolia in the century; XIV. century old Turkish Literature; XIV. The features of the 19th century Turkish literature, the important representatives of this period and the examination of sample verse-prose texts from the works of these representatives: Yunus Emre, Şeyyad Hazma, Kadı Burhaneddin, Hoca Mesud, Ahmedi, Nesimi; XIII-XIV. Reading and analysis studies on prose texts belonging to centuries.
