Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course is to analyze political thoughts which have been produced in Western world following Ancient Greek political thought and from French Revolution to the end of 19th century.In this framework, concepts such as liberalism, democracy and emergence of socialism will be taken into consideration in terms of modernity.

Learning Outcomes
1The individuals who are major in their field and experienced are being grown as dependent on main principles of Republic of Turkey and convenient for the main aims of Turkish national education system.
2They will achieve some behaviour such as being open-minded while doing scientific investigations, being suspicious and delaying decisions in the situation of having no complete proof, and they can maintain their studies with patience and care.
3They will apply the modern methods writing and investigating history by being loyal to scientific ethical rules.
4By learning other disciplines which can be an assist to science of history, they will benefit from the branches which will help them in their investigations and studies.
5S/he understands the importance of the Ancient Greek political thought on way to interpret modern world.
6S/he considers effects of Roman political thought and Christian political thought on western political thought.
7S/he analyzes how the concepts such as justice, power, liberty and equality are discussed by different thinkers and from the side of different ideologies.
8S/he analyzes the conditions which paved way for the emergence of totalitarian ideologies such as fascism and national socialism; then s/he knows about the historical backround of anarchosyndicalism and social state.

The concepts of state, power, human nature, justice, equality and liberty from Ancient Greek to Medieval Age in terms of social contract; French Revolution, Reactions to Revolution, Utopian Socialism and Marxism, Anarchism, Anarchosyndicalism, Fascism and National Socialism, Social State.
