Objectives of the Course
Students the importance of infectious diseases, general characteristics, protection methods, common infectious diseases in our country; factors, epidemiological and clinical characteristics, treatment, control and maintenance along with the principles of immunization, and to gain information on nosocomial infections. Thus, in diseases of the immune system plays an important role in aging and age-specific effects on the common conceptual information about infectious diseases in the elderly by increasing the gain skills for infection control.

Course Contents
İnfectious diseases,known from time immemorial, and today the importance of protecting the bacteria,viruses, fungi and parasitic such as diseases that are created by micro-organisms.All over the world each year, approximately 14 million people die annually due toinfectious diseases. Looking at rates of death due to diseases of infectious diseases is second than heart and vascular diseases.cancer is third in the list. The incidence of infectious diseases to overturn the social order and the delivery ofhealth services, and cause of death and disability, leading to economic losses. The information of a healthy society, well-trained health personnel’s share is great. Health personel, should know the ways of protection from infectious diseases and be able to take protective measures against these diseases.This purpose of this course, infectious disease, the chain of infection, the general features of infectious agents and the formation of infection, the spread of infectioninto the body, common infectious diseases in the world and our country;factors, modes of transmission, epidemiologic and clinical features, treatment,prevention and control and maintenance of immunization with the principles, methods of isolation, hospital infections, and infectious disease notification issues discussed. These ones; THE FORMATİON OF İNFECTİON: description of the course of infection, infection chains (Active-Source-output path of the source-New host input- sensitive host), and types of microorganisms (bacteria-virus-fungus-parasites) covers.
