Objectives of the Course
To have knowledge about the theories and approaches used in social work practice areas and to create awareness by applying them in social service field. To examine the theories for social work practice with individuals, families and groups from a social work perspective, to comprehend the theoretical framework of applied theories and to gain knowledge skill level for individuals, families and groups.

Course Contents
Social Work Theory and Approaches Within the scope of the course, human social systems related to social systems and change, theories related to social work, the principles of the use of the theories of social work, system theory and ecological approach, powers perspective, empowerment and use of language, social conception, feminist theory and practice , person-centered approach, motivational interview, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-oriented approach, task-centered social work, crisis intervention, working with society, group work, psychodynamics, social psychology and communication, humanism, community development, radical social service, empowerment and advocacy approaches theories and the importance of these theories in terms of social service, general evaluation of classical social service theories, current social work methods and theories; The theories related to contemporary social work related to human systems and change, The principles of the use of theories related to social work in professional applications are discussed. General social services within the framework of knowledge, skills and value of social work, social service implementation levels, ethical principles and responsibilities, intervention phases will be discussed.
