Around 14 million people worldwide die from infectious diseases every year. When the mortality rates related to diseases are examined, infectious diseases are the second most common cause after heart and vascular diseases. Cancer ranks third in the list. The incidence of infectious diseases disrupts the social order and the provision of health services, causes death and disability, and causes economic losses. The share of well-trained health personnel in the formation of a healthy society is great. Health personnel should know the ways of protection from infectious diseases and should take protective measures against these diseases.
