To provide engineering background in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R). Sizing and selection of components and accessories by using manufacturer´s catalogues and softwares. |

1 | Analysis of vapor compression refrigeration cycle. | 2 | To apply basic calculations such as heat of evaporation, work done by compressor, heat rejection in condenser and coefficient of performance). | 3 | To describe and apply basic calculations on operating principles of high pressure refrigeration system. | 4 | To apply basic heat load calculation for cold rooms, commercial refrigerators, water chillers | 5 | To recognize required parameters for selecting a compressor and select proper compressor by means of manufacturers catalogs. | 6 | To select proper condenser and evaporator to be operated in desired conditions and well-matched with compressor | 7 | To select correct expansion valve from manufacturer´s catalog in order to meet required operating conditions (temperature and pressure) and refrigerant flow rate for evaporator. | 8 | Sizing of main refrigerant lines (discharge, liquid and suction lines) and sub lines. |
