Objectives of the Course
"The purpose of this course, acquiring the basic skills of comprehension and expression, providing practice in reading and analyzing literary texts, learning composition methods which is useful for writing a project and preparing a presentation. "

Learning Outcomes
1Students will learn the function of words in verbal and written communication, and comrehed the importance of accurate syntax. the importance of the correct syntax for the Turkish sentences.
2Students will learn the ways of analysing of sentences and parts which are taken from books or texts.
3Students will express their feelings and ideas definitively by writting and speaking.
4Students will learn the properties of novel, poem, story, theater, essay, journal.
5Students will express their feelings and ideas definitively by writting and speaking and learn how to write petition, report, special letter and business letter, CV…private letters and business letters.

5Spelling Rules, Writting of some affixes and particals, Writting of proper names, numbers and quotation words, Use of capital and small letters.
6Spelling Rules, Punctuation, Importance of punctuation for a Language, Practising with sample sentences.
7Meanings of Words, Meaning Properties of Words, Meaning relations of Words and Semantic Change, Concretization
8Meaning and interpretation of a sentence. News, question and interjective sentences.
9Meaning and interpretation of a sentence. News, question and interjective sentences.
10Paragraph. Main idea of the paragraph, types of paragraph, content of the paragraph, supporting ideas of the paragraph.
11Government correspondence. Petition, protocol, report, business letter, proclamation. Practising.
12Parts of Speech. Use parts of speech properly to make a sentence.
13Incoherency. Incoherency about words. Practising with sample texts.
14Incoherency about sentences. Samples about incoherency which are obtained from variable media organs.
